windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)
Sorry for not updating this blog for so long. I've been busy...
So, let's go straight to the topic. Yesterday, I cannot open my CD-ROM drive from My Computer, because it's not there. So, I checked my device manager to see if my CD-ROM drive was there. Well, it was there. But, it has a question mark..So, it means that my CD-ROM drive has a problem. Then I right-clicked it and select properties. Under properties, this was the error message:
windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)
So, that's the problem. I thought it has something to do with my registry cleaner. Maybe my registry cleaner deleted some entries that affected my CD-ROM drive.
Well, that was not the case. The problem was not because some entries were deleted from registry. But, because some entries were not deleted. I've tried uninstalling my CD-ROM hardware and reinstall it again. I even tried to update it. But, all of these solution cannot solve this problem. Then, I found this article from microsoft.
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;en-us;314060&
I tried it and it works. I didn't try the method 1, instead, I used method 2 and then I can use my CD-ROM again.
If you're experiencing this problem, try using the method describe from the above link.
